Chaitra Shuddha Padhyami (the 26th March 2001) is indeed a very auspicious day. It is the first Gudi-padwa of the New Millenninum ! Also called Ugadi (Yugadi) in South India. It is the BEGINNING OF HINDU NEW-YEAR.

The great Indian Astrologer and mathematican Bhaskarachrya proclaimed the Ugadi day from the sunrise onwards as the beginning of the New Year, New Month and New Day. It is believed that Shri Rama returned victorious to Ayodhya on this very day after killing the demon Ravana.

On this auspicious occasion, Vandemataram.com brings you an important service, i.e., the Hindu Astrology, Vande Relief and Vande News.

We also want to highlight the importance of the Gudi-Padwa. It is traditionally celebrated with the followign events.
